Philadelphia YoungLives

Who We Are

What is YoungLives

It's opening your heart and life to reach and change forever the life of a teen mom and her child. Through honest sharing: relationships are built, the gospel is shared and fun is had by all. We believe teen moms deserve to know what life with Christ can hold for them. YoungLives leaders are caring adults who come sharing that hope.

Most importantly YoungLives is also ALL about fun. From Club, Bible Study, Camp and other activities, teen moms will have a blast laughing, trying new things and being with other teen moms who understand each other.

The Role of Leaders

It's about walking alongside a teen mom-- providing support as a teen, as a mother and a friend. And providing a safe place to share and talk about what's important to them. Our leaders help them consider the direction of their lives, and offer hope for their future.

Our Vision

Our vision will always be for all teen moms in Philadelphia be given the opportunity to hear the Gospel and be transformed throughout it. To serve as a lifeline for teen moms, one teen at a time. To accomplish this goal, we are seeking to expand our ministry into new schools and communities.

Who is YoungLives for

All teen moms are welcomed at YoungLives! Our programs are custom made for teen moms and their kids. Young Life is the name of our organization and YoungLives is our program with teen moms.

YoungLives multicultural ministry, is focused on teen moms in the Philadelphia area. Young Life has multiple teen ministries. Our ministry to kids with disabilities is called Capernaum and in partnership with Military Community Youth Ministries, Young Life reaches military teens through a program called Club Beyond. Pam Canty

youngliveswestoaklane@gmail.com

Club Coordinator @ West Oak Lane

Pam Canty first heard about YoungLives after her Pastor attended their annual banquet. He brought back a glowing report on what God was doing through this ministry. Pam visited the Olney club for several months and engaged with the moms, kids and staff. She sensed it was time to share her desire to start a club with her church. On a Sunday morning in 2018 she gave a brief presentation about the possibilities of serving young moms. After the presentation, Pam was overwhelmed with the support and interest expressed by the congregation. Many of the women shared that they had been teen moms at some point on their journey and they wanted to help. It became evident that God was preparing Great Commission Church to be an extension of His love to the teen moms in the northwest section of Philadelphia. After much prayer, research and planning, YoungLives West Oak Lane launched its first club in May of 2018.

Pam is a native of Philadelphia. She has been married to Kyle, the love of her life, for almost 19 years and they have three beautiful children.
